wo members of the Queensland Mounted Police and Santa’s entourage from the Samford Rural Fire Brigade were special guests at Samford RDA’s annual awards event.
While the Percheron police horses demonstrated their impressive criminal apprehension skills, the Rural Fire Brigade volunteers safely delivered the ever-popular Santa to the RDA centre to distribute gifts.
In addition to the entertainment, several awards were presented to acknowledge the outstanding efforts of our participants.
Alexandra Coggin (pictured) received the inaugural Betty Palmer Memorial Award, presented to the most improved senior rider, while Isabella Schwenk won the annual ANZAC Award. This award was presented by Mark Orreal from the Samford Sub-Branch of the RSL to recognise a young rider who displays the qualities of the ANZACs such as bravery, teamwork and perseverance.
The awards event was a fun way to end the year; and our 2026 program begins on Monday February 16.
