Child Safety
Child Safety - Well Being - Structure and Responsibilities
This page is the placeholder for upcoming compliance with new QLD Legislation, driven by the Child Safe Organisations Act and the recent "In Plain Sight" child protection review. The reforms mandate strict Child Safe Standards across all sectors, implement a 'Reportable Conduct Scheme', and establish a new centralised protection commission to oversee all safeguarding functions.
This page along with training, visual material, policies and procedures will form the backbone of our obligation under the legislation. We also acknowledge that our participants, some of whom are adults, present with vulnerabilities that broaden our obligations.
The Child Safe Organisations Act 2024 in Queensland requires organisations working with children to implement 10 Child Safe Standards and a Universal Principle for cultural safety. Compliance aims to create safe environments, prevent abuse, and manage risk through leadership, safe recruitment, and clear reporting processes, with full compliance expected by December 2026.
