RDA centre improvement

A double carport to accommodate a horse float and a large vehicle is the latest improvement to our RDA Centre at Samford Showgrounds.

The newly completed structure was built as part of a $96,000 grant provided through the State Government’s Gambling Community Benefit Fund. The funding also purchased an angle-load float and a 4x4 utility, which has relieved pressure on our volunteers to use their own vehicles for RDA purposes.

We thank State Member, Nikki Boyd, for supporting our successful application for the funding; and Craig Hoolihan of Titan Garages and Sheds of Morayfield which discounted the cost of construction and provided free certification and a workbench. Underground services were scanned at no cost by Samford local Kevin from K&S Scanning.

The Samford RDA Centre is officially recognised as a Centre of Excellence by Riding for the Disabled Association of Australia (RDAA). This latest addition complements a range of modern facilities such as a covered arena with adjoining saddling area, an office and dedicated tack shed.
