It may be Autumn, but we are already making plans for a major Spring fundraising event.
The Spring Fling Hoedown is an old-school family-focused bush dance planned for Saturday September 12. The evening will feature a bush band, line dancing, raffles and fun games held under cover at the Jenny O’Malley Arena at Samford Showgrounds from 5.30pm to 9.30pm.
The event is Samford RDA’s first significant fundraiser for some time, and will raise money to support our local Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) program. A number of generous sponsors and raffle prize donors have come on board early, and RDA sincerely thanks Drakes IGA Samford, Samford Jewellers, Crs Cath Tonks and Ellie Smith (City of Moreton Bay), State Member Nikki Boyd, Federal Member Ali France, Amy Sargeantson Chocolate Maker, Emma Dazzouret Art, Samford Hotel, Kenilworth Bakery, Brisbane Racing Club and the Lupton Family.
Guests on the night bring their own grazing platter; or wood-fired pizza will be available. A coffee cart will attend, and a cash bar will sell wine, beer and soft drinks. No BYO drinks are permitted.
Tickets are $35 per adult, $15 for children aged five to 16 (younger children are free) and $80 per family (two adults and two children).
To pre-purchase tickets (as well as children’s cowboy/cowgirl hat and bandana sets for $12 each), visit Trybooking (www.trybooking.com/DKIYR).
