Nikki meets Misty

Our local State Member, Nikki Boyd (Pine Rivers), paid a visit recently to check out all the improvements to our arena and meet her new sponsored horse, Misty.

The sweet-natured Welsh-cross buckskin mare is the latest addition to our herd. Nikki has previously sponsored Charlie and Bertie, who have retired from the program.

Horse sponsors like Nikki help to meet the ongoing cost of feeding and caring for our amazing horses – and Nikki has also supported Samford RDA to successfully secure Queensland Government grants to install lights and improve the working surface of the Jenny O’Malley Arena.

Samford RDA thanks all its horse and centre sponsors for their financial support.

Thanks alsoto those who purchased raffle tickets to win a magnificent patchwork quilt, created and generously donated by Samford Patchworker Helen Duncan. The quilt features 12 horse portraits, originally painted by an 11 year old boy with Autism, then printed onto fabric. It was won by RDA volunteer, Ronnie White, and raised about $740 for Samford RDA.
