Major upgrade for RDA Centre

Work is in progress on a major improvement project at the Samford RDA Centre.

Thanks to a $100,000 grant from the Queensland Government’s Gambling Community Benefit Fund, our centre has a new mounting yard surface, additional horse yards and a new disability mounting ramp on the way.

The area under improvement adjoins our covered riding arena and is used to prepare horses and riders for riding sessions.

Workers have installed a stabilising interlocking surface throughout the area (pictured). This ‘horse friendly’ surface will reduce dust and provide a healthier work environment for RDA’s volunteers and participants. The new disability mounting ramp meets the latest access standards, greatly improving safety and streamlining the mounting process.
