Further arena improvement planned

Our key facility at Samford RDA, the Jenny O’Malley Arena, has been an evolving project over many years – and there will be a further improvement in 2021 following State Government approval of a $4,776 grant.

State Member for Pine Rivers, Nikki Boyd (with daughter Evie), visited recently to confirm the funding which will be used to purchase a new electric sprinkler pump. The pump will help maintain the stability of the arena surface and minimise dust.

The arena surface was laid last year, and together with new lighting and horse yards, has allowed us to extend our program and hire the facility to external groups for a range of equestrian activities.

Samford RDA sincerely thanks the State Government for the grant, approved under the Active Restart Infrastructure Recovery Fund. This funding continues the State Government’s commitment to helping community groups like ours to get back to normal post-COVID and improve their financial sustainability.
