Cup Day support

Our wonderful volunteers raised a record Brisbane race-day amount during the 50-50 Charity Raffle held on Melbourne Cup Day – and in doing so, earned more than $9,500 for our RDA Centre at Samford Showgrounds.

The not-for-profit raffle is operated by the 50-50 Foundation in partnership with the Brisbane Racing Club, and is a regular feature of race meetings in Brisbane. Melbourne Cup Day was the second time that Samford RDA had been selected as a beneficiary.

Our volunteers took advantage of the large crowds at Eagle Farm, selling a total of $23,794 worth of raffle tickets. The lucky winner won half the money raised on the day.

We wish to sincerely thank the 50-50 Foundation and Brisbane Racing Club for the opportunity to be involved once again in this great fund-raising initiative. The money generated from the sale of raffle tickets will support our centre’s vital work with children and adults with disabilities.
