The State Member for Pine Rivers, Nikki Boyd, recently took the time to visit her sponsored Samford RDA horse, Misty.
Misty is one of a dozen very special horses working at our centre to improve the lives of children and adults with a disability. The many therapeutic benefits from horse riding include improved core body strength, balance and coordination.
Nikki is one of our valued long-time supporters. Her annual sponsorship of Misty helps meet the cost of feed and care; and Samford RDA has secured a number of significant Queensland Government grants over the years with Nikki’s assistance. State Government financial support has played a key role in the expansion of our program and improved facilities.
Samford RDA’s 2023 program started in February following a successful series of volunteer induction sessions and a working bee. A big thanks to all who gave their time and efforts to prepare the centre for the new year, and to support the new volunteers!
