A magnificent quilt to be won!

Look at what Samford RDA will be raffling soon… this magnificent quilt donated by Helen Duncan of Mt Glorious!

Helen (left) operates Patch of Sunshine Quilting, and is a member of Samford Patchworkers, which sponsors RDA horse Peter Pan. Her latest creative project, ‘Freedom Reins’, involved more than 100 hours of quilting and is appraised at $2,500.

The quilt features 12 horses, originally painted by an 11 year old boy with Autism, then digitally printed on 100 percent cotton fabric which has been made into a double sized patchwork quilt.

Helen’s long association with horses and her support for the work of Samford RDA motivated her to undertake this highly detailed labour of love – and we greatly appreciate her generous gift! Raffle tickets for the quilt will be sold at our Samford Show stall and until it is drawn in September, with all proceeds supporting our RDA program.
