CALCUTTA CHARITY PARTNER

Samford RDA has been selected as the Charity Partner at The Star $3M Stradbroke Ladbrokes Calcutta at Howard Smith Wharves on June 13.

The annual event donates 10 percent of the night's raffle and auction proceeds to a chosen beneficiary; and we are very pleased to have been chosen by the Brisbane Racing Club as this year's recipient. Last year's recipient, Rise Up, received around $17,000. Grants and outside fundraising are vital to charity operations like Samford RDA.

The Calcutta is part of Stradbroke Season, Queensland’s premier racing carnival, and a highlight of The Star Stradbroke Day.

The Calcutta is not the first time we have benefited from a charity fundraiser with the Brisbane Racing Club. Our volunteers have attended three race days in the past few years to participate in the 50:50 Charity Raffle. This not-for-profit initiative is operated by the 50-50 Foundation to raise funds for charities throughout the State. Half the prize pool raised at each raffle goes to a lucky ticket holder, with the remaining 50 percent (less commission) going directly to its partner charity on the day.

Thank you Brisbane Racing Club!
